Our responsibilities
The Commonwealth Department of Social Services improves the economic and social wellbeing of individuals, children, families and vulnerable members of Australian communities. The department's work is wide reaching. We make a difference through social security assistance, and support for resilient families and communities.
The National Commission for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People
Minderoo is a proudly Australian philanthropy, working to forge a fair future by courageously challenging inequalities and campaigning for meaningful change.
Determined to remove barriers that prevent the creation of a fair future, we focus our efforts on three key areas – Communities, Gender Equality and Natural Ecosystems.
We recognise that some barriers to change are greater than others. In response, we apply the lens of climate change, gender equality and First Nations to all our work, engagements and partnerships to ensure we don’t lose sight of the inequity these areas face.
Allies for Children
Allies for Children represents seven organisations in the child, youth, and family sector, united in the belief that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children should be cared for in a way directed and managed by ACCOs. We are committed to the transition and reunification of First Nations children to community control.

Our vision is for all children and young people to grow up safe, healthy, connected, and loved - empowered to reach their full potential.Our work with Aboriginal children and young people is grounded in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle, upholding their right to remain connected to family, community, culture and Country.We are committed to Aboriginal self-determination, knowing that decisions led by Aboriginal people deliver the best outcomes.In genuine partnership with Aboriginal people, we are driving change to improve outcomes for Aboriginal children, young people, families and communities.
Queensland Family & Child Commission
The Queensland Family and Child Commission has a vision that every Queensland child is loved, respected and has their rights upheld.Uniting NSW.ACT contributes to the work of the Uniting Church in NSW and the ACT, through social justice advocacy and community services.
We provide services for people through all ages and stages of life, and drive solutions to systemic issues. Our purpose is to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice.

The Healing Foundation supports Stolen Generations survivors — the many thousands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander babies and children taken from loving families, communities, culture and Country over a century across Australia.
We work closely with governments, Stolen Generations organisations, service providers and stakeholders to address the priority needs of ageing Stolen Generation survivors.

The Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety works to ensure child protection reforms enable self-determination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in the care and protection of their children, and drive accountability of government, non-government and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations for the safety and wellbeing of all children. The Queensland Government is committed to improving life outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families and reducing the overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people in the child protection system to meet its commitments under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap and Safe and Supported: The National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2021-2031.

Maari Ma Health Aboriginal Corporation
Maari Ma Health is an Aboriginal community-controlled health regional organisation focussing on Aboriginal primary health care across the age spectrum, as well as supporting early childhood development in far west NSW. With activities in Broken Hill, Wilcannia, Menindee, Balranald and Ivanhoe, we offer comprehensive primary health care, healing, and programs that support child development early literacy, learning through play, and parents as a child’s first teacher.
Family Relation Services Australia
Family and Relationship Services Australia (FRSA) is the recognised national peak body for services that support and protect the wellbeing of children, families and communities.
For the sector and governments, FRSA is able to present the broad picture of needs, service trends and impact. FRSA harnesses the collective knowledge and expertise of its members to inform practice, policy development and decision making. And FRSA brings practitioners, sector leaders and policy makers together for collaboration, learning and innovation.
The NSW Department of Education’s vision is that all Aboriginal children in NSW can access quality early childhood education and care (ECEC) and are supported to embrace their culture and identity for a strong start to lifelong learning.
NT Department of Children and Families
The Department of Children and Families partners with communities - from remote desert locations to tropical urban centres - keeping children safe and families strong. We deliver child protection, family support, domestic and family violence prevention, and homelessness responses. Grounded in cultural respect and a shared commitment to better outcomes.
For 50 years World Vision Australia has walked alongside First Nations communities as they achieve their own development goals, harness their existing strengths, and create solutions and advocate for their own challenges; so that First Nations children across Australia can thrive and live life in all its fullness.
Kummara Limited is an Indigenous organisation established in 1999 to provide support to vulnerable families at risk. The organisation’s objective is to support the long-term wellbeing and resilience of Indigenous children and families. Kummara Limited offers many programs and works in partnership with families for the achievement of independence and strengthening of the family’s capabilities. We believe in the strengths of family and community and have developed a strong reputation for engaging and supporting our community.
Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS)
The Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) is an Australian Government statutory agency that discovers what works for every kind of family to thrive. For more than 40 years our research has influenced major legislative and policy reform and helped service providers make a difference in the lives of Australian families.
Children have been and always are at the centre of everything that we do. Barnardos Australia aims to protect children who are at risk of abuse, neglect or danger by supporting families to keep children and young people safe at home before the issues escalate. We support children and young people who have experienced trauma to recover and thrive.

DV Connect
DVConnect creates pathways for a life free from violence and fear. We help Queenslanders experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence, by providing access to emergency transport, accommodation, safety planning, crisis counselling, and more. Our dedicated counsellors offer support via our Womensline, Mensline, Sexual Assault Helpline and Forensic Support Line.
Department of Education, Children and Young People
The Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) is here to enable bright lives and positive futures for all Tasmanian children and young people. Services DECYP is responsible for include Child and Family Learning Centres, Tasmanian government schools, Child Safety and Out of Home Care, Youth Justice Services, Libraries and the Tasmanian Archives. The Education and Care Unit of the Department for Education, Children and Young People regulates early childhood education and care and child care in Tasmania. It provides strategic leadership and supports ECEC policy initiatives. Regulatory authority functions include compliance and monitoring, assessment and rating of services, and education and engagement initiatives that promote best practice regulation, child safety, and quality outcomes for Tasmanian children.
Office for Early Childhood Development
The Office for Early Childhood Development was created to champion change and develop a system that gives all South Australian children the best possible start. We know that learning and development starts at home and by working together, we can help all children get a flying start to life. By delivering universal 3-year-old preschool, we aim to improve the quality of early education, increase access to early learning services statewide and deliver increased hours of preschool to those children who need it most.”
ARACY The Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth brings together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and communities to improve the wellbeing of all children and young people — especially those facing systemic barriers. ARACY champions collaboration and evidence-informed solutions through initiatives like The Nest wellbeing framework and the Thriving Queensland Kids Partnership. We are proud to support the SNAICC National Conference and share in its commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led early childhood, child protection, and cultural connection. ARACY values this powerful space for truth-telling, learning, and collective action to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
