Mere is the current chairman of the Iwi Collective Partnership as well as the Chief Executive officer of Ngati Whare Group, having retired as a Partner at GHA Chartered Accountants and Management Consultants, in 2021.

 Mere has extensive knowledge of the Iwi Collective partnership and Māori fisheries having served two consecutive director terms on the board as well as representing Ngati Whare in fisheries forum since 2012.  

She has been a qualified Chartered Accountant for eighteen years and was recently appointed a Fellow Chartered Accountant.  In this time, she has worked with commercial entities across a broad range of industries, including dairy, sheep and beef farming, fisheries, forestry, horticulture, telecommunications and insurance. Mere works closely with iwi, Māori land trusts, incorporations and marae daily and has extensive networks in te ao Māori across Aotearoa, and especially in Te Arawa, Mataatua, the Bay of Plenty and CNI.  

Mere is passionate about strengthening Māori business and Māori community.  She has a passion for growing young Māori leaders and is a strong advocate for Māori women.
