Derek Walker is currently the Managing Director of both Ngopamuldi Aboriginal Corporation and Kuti Co. He resides in Murray Bridge with his wife and their five children. 

An electrician by trade, Derek also studied agriculture at the Roseworthy Campus of Adelaide University. 

Over the past 30 years, his professional career has encompassed a range of roles in Raukkan and Murray Bridge, including community development, building and resource management, and property management. His focus has been on creating opportunities for employment and training. 

This experience led to the establishment of Ngopamuldi Aboriginal Corporation, which aims to address disadvantage among the local Aboriginal and broader community by providing community development services, as well as employment and training opportunities.

The enterprises developed under Ngopamuldi include Working on Country, Aboriginal Learning on Country, Shared Services, Labour Hire, Kuti Co (a fishing company), Building Repair and Maintenance, and Yunta Walun (a native flower project).
